| Alberto Nosè at the Wigmore |
The young Italian pianist Alberto Nosè gave a superbly planned recital at the Wigmore Hall on 6 July, beginning with a fine account of Mozart’s Rondo in A minor K511, a reading that emphasised the influence this unique masterpiece exerted upon Schubert and even Chopin. He followed this with the two Sonatas that comprise Beethoven’s Opus 27, giving really excellent performances of both.
The second half began with two varied Nocturnes by Chopin, drawing very beautifully spun legato lines from this pianist, who ended his programme with a tremendous performance of Prokofiev’s Sixth Sonata. |
