Alberto Nosè was born in Villafranca di Verona, Italy in 1979 and was the winner of First Prize, Gold Medal and Sony Audience Prize of the 15th “Paloma O'Shea” International Piano Competition of Santander (Spain) in 2005.
He started his piano studies at the Conservatory F. E. Dall'Abaco in Verona under Prof. Laura Palmieri and graduated with full marks, full honors and special mention at the age of 17. He continued his education with Prof. Franco Scala, Boris Petrushansky and Leonid Margarius at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” of Imola and obtained a Piano Master Diploma in 2005. He also attended masterclasses by Maurizio Pollini, Murray Perahia, Andrej Jasinski, Michael Dalberto, Louis Lortie, Michael Beroff, Alexander Lonquich, Arie Vardi, Fou Ts'ong, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Alfons Kontarsky, Paul Badura-Skoda.
Alberto Nosè first gained recognition at the age of 11, winning First Prize in the Jugend für Mozart International Competition in Salzburg, thanks to which, he held his first concert tour around Italy, Austria and France.
He went on to win prizes at prestigious international piano competitions such as Chopin in Warsaw (5th Prize in 2000 and third laureate among the Italians after Maurizio Pollini and Corrado Rollero), Busoni in Bolzano (2nd Prize "with particular distinction" in 1999), Maj Lind in Helsinki (1st Prize in 2002), Long-Thibaud in Paris (2nd Prize in 2004), Vendôme in Parigi (1st Prize in 2000), World Piano Competition in London (2nd Prize in 2002), European Competition Luciano Gante in Pordenone (1st Prize in 2002), Premio Venezia (1st Prize unanimously in 1998).
From such affermations, an acclaimed career came out and took him to perform throughout Europe and all over the world for important festivals and in prestigious concert halls as Carnegie Hall in New York, Queen Elisabeth Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Théâtre du Châtelet and Salle Pleyel in Paris, Mozarteum in Salzburg, BeethovenFest in Bonn, Liederhalle in Stuttgart, Chopin Festival in Geneva, Summer Festival in Luzern, Teatro Monumental in Madrid, Megaron in Athens, Finlandia Hall and Tapiola Hall in Helsinki, Philharmonja in Warsaw, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Auditorio do MASP in Sao Paulo, Sala Meireles di Rio de Janeiro, Cervantino International Festival in Mexico City, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Settembre Musica in Turin, Bologna Festival, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Sala Verdi, Teatro dal Verme and Auditorium in Milan, Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Keyboard Trust, among others.
He has performed in recital and chamber music with the Italian cellist Rocco Filippini, the Ysaÿe Quartet, the Venetian Quartet, the violinist Fanny Clamagirand and the cellist Giorgi Kharadze, and as soloist with the London Philharmonic, English Chamber Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra, New Mexico Symphony, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Warsaw Philharmonic, Filharmonia Varsovia, Kiev Opera Symphony, Finnish Radio Symphony, Sinfonica RTVE de Madrid, Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia, Helsingborg Symphony, Janacek Philharmonic, Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Württembergisches Staatsorchester Stuttgart, Orchestra della Fondazione Arena di Verona, Orchestra Haydn di Trento e Bolzano, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio, to cite a few.
He collaborated with well-known conductors, such as Roy Goodman, Manfred Honeck, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, Enrique Batiz, Anton Nanut, Hannu Lintu, James Judd, Marcus Bosch, Rumon Gamba, George Hanson, Ion Marin, Josè Ferreira Lobo, Lewis Kaplan, Ola Rudner, Giancarlo De Lorenzo, Alain Lombard, Enrique Mazzola.
He often helds masterclasses at Conservatories, Colleges, Institutes and International Music Festivals, such as the Conservatory in Geneva, the Mannes College of Music in New York and in Japan.
His discography includes recordings for Assicurazioni Generali, for TauRecords, for the French music magazine “Piano”, for Radio Classica, Radio Gdansk and Radio Suisse Romande.
In 2007 he records a cd for Nascor-Ysaye Records with music of Schumann and Prokofiev, and is awarded the prizes of La Clef ResMusica.com and Coup de coeur Fnac.
In 2008 a DVD with Mozart and Beethoven piano music is released by Domovideo, recorded on occasion of the 250th Mozart Anniversary in 2006, and broadcast by “SKY Classica” Sat Channel.
In the same year Naxos publishes a cd with the Six Sonatas op.17 by Johann Christian Bach, a world premiere on modern piano, that receives the prize “CHOC du Le Monde de la Musique” and "4 Diapason Superbe" and is broadcast all over the world, by Radio France, BBC 3, Radio 4 Netherland, Radio New Zealand, ABC Classic FM USA and Australia.
In 2009, the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International assignes him the title of Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) to career, “as a sign of appreciation and gratitude for his tangible value and meaningful contribution in promoting a better mutual understanding and friendly relations among peoples around the world”.
On occasion of the International F. Chopin Piano Competition in 2010, he will be jury member in the Preliminaries.
Alberto Nosè is Professor at the Academy of the Steinway Society of Verona.
